Welcome to LAOFAC
ABOUT US
Leicester Ancient Order of Foresters Archery Club (LAOFAC or 'Foresters') was formed in 1970 and is affiliated to Archery GB.

We are a Target Archery club with a wide range of members and coaches. We actively encourage juniors (age 8 upwards), students, disabled members, shooting all types of bows including Recurve, Compound, Barebow and Longbow.

All Archers must be members of Archery GB for insurance purposes; this is included in your annual club membership fee.

Our outdoor venue, to which we have sole and year-round access,
is at the junction of Hospital Lane and Leicester Road, Countesthorpe. LE8 5QW. There is parking space at the field for cars, or alternatively the field is on the route of the number 85 bus, and there is a stop next to the field.
In winter we shoot at Brockington Community College, Blaby Road, Enderby, LE19 4AQ on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings – for members each indoor session is free as this is included in the annual membership fee. Visiting Archers are always welcome, the cost is £5 per session (max 4 sessions).
Each year we stage a number of open outdoor tournaments. These include an early fun shoot in aid of charity, two record status shoots, and a competition aimed at less experienced archers late in the season. We also hold a two-way Western for longbow archers in June.
On the lighter side we hold fun days and have-a-go sessions where we do a variety of regular target and novelty shoots (Dawn to Dusk, Wand Shoot, Halloween, Boxing Day, Family Fun Days, etc). We also support local schools and community groups, by attending fetes or hosting have-a-go sessions at our field.
